showing me her new backpack for school along with her really cool Simpsons

it off...
My daughter (knowing I don't drink alcohol and feeling a wrapped present for me which is apparently wine):
Do you really want wine for Christmas?
Me (going into knowing, instructing, loving fatherly mode to take advantage of a perfect time to educate my daughter on giving and receiving):
What counts is the present, it doesn't matter to me what it is.
My daughter (after very briefly digesting this tidbit of parental wisdom):
What if it was poo? Or how about a bottle of wee?
who told me that my allowing my daughter, who had just thrown up in the car, catch her breath, was the same as waiting which is "prohibited", and who then went to nonchalantly get his colleagues when he saw the level of contempt I held for him in my subsequent gaze...
F*** OFF
you petty little bureaucratic f***wit jobsworth c***-sucking cowardly a***hole...There was space for about fifty cars to drop off all around me; no one was being held up, you t***.
No wonder people are forbidden from carrying weapons in this country; they'd have to add a new source of mortality to the mortality statistics - "Killed whilst being a jobsworth c***"
with the genius that was The Animaniacs. Me and the daughter have been cycling through the complete series Volumes 1-3. So far, we are on the last of the five DVDs that make up Volume 1.
and
Pure Genius!
My daughter is very much like her daddy...When she gets bored with a situation she starts acting out in inappropriate ways and making wise-ass remarks in said situations.
Apparently, in Sunday School yesterday, she said something that was so inappropriate that the teacher wouldn't tell me what it was...And I know, from recently volunteering, that the Sunday School has been particularly boring and regimented of late...
When asked about the nature of the class, her reply was "Isn't Sunday supposed to be a day of rest?"
She gets structure and discipline five days a week in school; unfortunately, two of the three women who rotate running the class are schoolteachers, and, I think, take that philosophy into Sunday School.
Well, the daughter has a point about the day of rest, and if going to church becomes too much of an unfun chore, although doing something you don't like may build character, it won't very well want you coming back if the teacher's always getting on your case for being bored with her lesson...
Looks like the search for a new church is on.
Work is heating up, my university classes are back in session, we received the "24" Season 6 DVDs two weeks ago...So many alternatives, so little time for blogging...
Anyway, as it is half-term, the daughter and I are off for a walk at Cuckmere Haven...
Maybe some photos, maybe not...We'll see how we feel later...
