Busy Busy Busy

Work is heating up, my university classes are back in session, we received the "24" Season 6 DVDs two weeks ago...So many alternatives, so little time for blogging...

Anyway, as it is half-term, the daughter and I are off for a walk at Cuckmere Haven...

Maybe some photos, maybe not...We'll see how we feel later...

A Day Out at Petworth House

Spent the day out at Petworth House, taking advantage of our brand spanking new National Trust family membership.

Probably one of the best collections of pre-modern art I've seen in a while, all packed into a very tight space.  I recommend that if you go, you don't take any seven-year-olds with short attention spans.  There are many gems to appreciate.  Even a few Greek statues (which will have certain seven-year-olds laughing and pointing at willies).

Also, the grounds were designed by Capability Brown.  When one looks upon the vast vistas of wood and downland park and lakes, inhabited by the largest British herd of fallow deer, and considers that it was actually designed rather than grown wild, one becomes overawed by the sheer scale of genius involved.

Also, when one sees a small group of deer inhabiting said designed landscape, one cannot help but resist the urge to go hunting.
